Parents & Students - "Pink Out" Fundraiser Update
PARENTS AND STUDENTS John B.Cary Elementary School “In the Name of Love” Community Service Project THINK PINK-WEAR PINK and BE AWARE! WEAR PINK FOR OUR “PINK OUT”DANCE
On October 30, 2015, John B. Cary Elementary School students and staff will show their support for Sisters Network, Inc. to raise awareness and compassion about cancer. All proceeds from the “PINK OUT” Dance will be donated to Sisters Network Central VA, Inc., which promotes early detection as the best defense against cancer. This organization coordinates community forums and offers seminars to educate the underserved communities in Central Virginia about cancer, the risk factors and preventive measures. Admission to the dance is free and snacks will be sold. Prizes will be awarded to a student in each grade level and one staff member for wearing the most creative “PINK OUT” attire. The dance will be held in the cafeteria. Grades K-2 will dance from 1:15p.m.-2:10p.m. and students in grades 3-5 will dance from 2:20p.m.-3:15p.m. Please help support our fundraiser and school-wide community service project! Volunteers are needed to assist with student supervision and concessions. Donations are appreciated. Snack size bags of chips, pretzels, corn chips, drinks and candy without peanuts are needed.
